Facebook scheduling and Sked Link are back - start using them now

Hi jason, hope your 2019 has started well!

Before we dive into the new year, let's take a look at how 2018 looked for Sked. Last year, we helped over 10,000 customers achieve their social media goals, engage and grow their audiences, post consistently and spend less time managing social media.

Great work, Sked family. Together you posted over 4 million images 🖼, 400,000 videos 📹 and 150,000+ Instagram Stories 🎉.

We're proud to say we now have over 18,000 social accounts managed with Sked, with everyone from non-profits promoting better education for girls in Haiti to fashion brands setting new trends with their Instagram efforts.

Here's a quick look at how you used Sked in 2018:

🌏

Desta Haile runs an online free education program called Languages through music, providing free resources for learning languages to thousands of people around the world. Check out her Instagram account.

As Desta puts it: "Sked is helpful in both organizing actions and inspiring new ideas!"

The LIDE foundation aims to contribute to creating a world where girls have equal access to quality education, a sense of their own voices and their innate gifts, and feel empowered to use those strengths to achieve their educational goals, support one another, and to contribute positively to the betterment of their local and global communities.

"Sked provides me with the comfort of mind knowing our content is posted accurately and on time. The customer service is fantastic; after suggesting a feature, it was added to the site within a week."

💅

Sephora's Portugal branch uses Sked to "improve their Instagram Feed in a very productive way." And rightfully so, their aesthetic is pretty impressive:

Shoetopia is another company relying on Sked to keep their efforts consistent and their grid perfect. And by perfect, we mean:

Hawaii Pacific University does a great job using Sked to schedule their content.

👩🏻‍🎓

Hawaii Pacific University is doing an important job bringing high quality education to Hawaii so they need all the focus they can get. According to them, Sked has made them more nimble and taken the guess work out of their Instagram postings.

🧶

Jodi, the founder of Tales of Cloth, a small business based out of Melbourne (Australia) says she gets 80% of her customers through Instagram which is why it's important for her to have a tool like Sked to support that!

🐾

And small businesses truly cherish the extra time saved with Sked, as Kim Williams, the founder of Polka dot press puts it: As a busy store owner, I love being part of the latest social media trends without losing focus of my customers during the day.

🐝

Being able to spend 1-2 hours per month on Instagram rather than 1-2 hours per week makes managing and keeping up with my social media channels totally achievable. Rachel Gronback, Clever Social

As Instagram has evolved, not all scheduling platforms have kept up (or kept up at a reasonable pace). Sked has allowed us to stay current with our customer's needs, and now, to also explore usage data via their new Analytics feature (and it's all about meaningful data). Victor Machado, Post & Wall digital marketing

📈

In just a few short weeks of using Sked I have seen a sharp increase in my content engagement and followers. This app is like having a full-time social media planner assisting me. Eleanor Oliver-Edmonds, Empowered One

How do you use Sked? Tell us, we'd love to learn about and share your story too! We're going to try and feature at least one customer each month :)

2018 at Sked ✨

At Sked, the company, we welcomed 8 new team members (from 3 continents 🌏), 2 new babies and one new mascot - have you met Quirky?

Quirky is the world's most social animal (a quokka) and perpetually on holiday 🍹

Quirky helps social media managers all over the world

We also have an ongoing dogs vs cats debate on our team, so if you have strong opinions on that (and who doesn't?), let us know!

Here are some of our team's pets, to help you decide:

Help us shape the future of Sked

We appreciate all your feedback so far and are always looking for ways on how to improve. Here's how you can help:

  1. Fill out this short survey about what we do well and how we can improve
  2. Book a call with our Product team to give one-on-one feedback about the things you love or passionately hate
  3. Join our team and make Sked better from the inside! (We're hiring engineering and marketing roles at the moment).

Fresh on the Sked Blog

New year, new social media management goals! For the Sked blog, our goal is to share the very best content that makes your job easier. Here's the latest to prep you for 2019:

Our (biggest) improvements in 2018

Thanks to your feedback, this year we also added 5 of our most popularly requested features:

  1. Location tagging for better engagement
You can tag your locations in image posts to Instagram. Location tagging in videos isn't possible right now thanks to how the Instagram app works, but we're working on it.

  2. Product tagging for achieving your sales goals
If you're an eCommerce company and not using product tagging, you're leaving sales on the table. Let us know if you need some help getting it all set up with Instagram and Sked!

  3. Analytics to keep improving on your engagement
Our Instagram analytics is going well, and we're starting planning for the next big iteration, including competitor analysis and support for multiple platforms.

  4. Facebook posting to save you even more time
Of course, we launched Facebook Page scheduling late last year. It's been the #1 most requested feature for 5 years now!

  5. Sked Link + Link in bio tooling
We were asked to make it easy to manage your link in bio, and so we launched Sked Link as a tightly-integrated solution to let you have a clickable feed. Check it out.
An update on Pinterest: we launched Pinterest scheduling with Facebook, but then Pinterest's developer dashboard has been uh … broken. For a while. We're working with their support to try and get it all fixed, but if you have a contact at Pinterest who could help, we'd appreciate an intro! We'll send you some awesome quokka stickers as a thanks.

What's next for Sked?

Here's the next things on our agenda:

  1. Fully rebuilt mobile app
iOS user? Join our beta here – Android will get launched as soon as our customers are happy with the iOS app.

  2. Twitter scheduling & improvements to multi-platform scheduling
We're working to bring you Twitter scheduling as well as some minor tweaks to how scheduling to multiple platforms works to make it a bit more clear what's going on behind the scenes. LinkedIn is probably next on the list after that, but they're going through a lot of internal change after the Microsoft acquisition.

  3. Collaboration & workflows for post approvals
Do you need post statuses or internal comments in your Sked dashboard to help improve your collaboration within the team or with external clients or partners? Drop us an email, we'll show you what we're working on and get your feedback :)

  4. A big (visual) redesign
We know the new Sked dashboard isn't the most beautiful baby you've seen. We're working on a fresh coat of paint (and a few minor UX improvements based on your feedback). We hope to have it in beta soon! It'll roll out as an opt-in update.

Your feedback helps us to improve shapes how thousands of social media managers and business owners work every day. So hey - thanks.

Hope your year is off to a great start!

Hugh & the Sked team (Quirky, if you're reading this - please check Slack!)
